Armor Wallet

An open-source MCP server and agent layer that lets AI assistants carry out real crypto operations: wallet management, swaps, DCA and limit orders, and staking.

Armor Wallet on a phone: the user asks the assistant to list their wallets and it replies, beside features for chat trading, wallet management, multi-chain support and non-custodial security
The starting point

The challenge

Crypto operations are multi-step, irreversible and spread across chains and protocols. A chatbot that only answers questions is no use here: the agent has to plan, call real tools safely and get every step right.

The solution

What we built

  • Built an MCP server that exposes wallet management, swaps, DCA, limit and scheduled orders, staking and token search as typed tools.

  • Wrapped the tools in a PydanticAI agent with ReAct-style planning, and LangGraph workflows for multi-step operations.

  • Typed every tool with validated schemas, so the agent can't call an operation with malformed arguments.

  • Packaged the server for distribution: installable with uv and usable from Claude Desktop, Cline and n8n.

  • Built the chat-first wallet app, a progressive web app where users manage their wallets, trade and swap by chatting with the agent. It was fully developed but not launched.

Architecture

How the system works

How it fits together
  1. 01UserChat in any MCP client
  2. 02AI agentIntent and step planning
  3. 03MCP serverTyped wallet, swap and order tools
  4. 04Armor APIAuthenticated operations
  5. 05BlockchainSolana, with more chains planned
Engineering

How it was engineered

  • Built evaluation scenarios for multi-step crypto operations, and ran them after every iteration and against production.

  • Traced every agent decision and tool call in Logfire.

  • Released the MCP server as open source under GPL-3.0.
